Psalms 40

Now, you told me to read this. And you know I will get myself into a word study quick when I stumble across a word or verse.

Psalm 40 is all about Jesus. Did you know that? I bet you did.

Let me show you how far I got with this study:

Look at that word: “Miry Clay” it is spelt different in other places in scriptures. But, this spelling only appears 3 times in scriptures:

Psalm 40:2,

He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and he set my feet upon a rock and established my goings.

Ezekiel 47:11,

But the miry places thereof and the marishes thereof shall not be healed;they shall be given to salt.

Daniel 2:43,

And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

Other verses you should read: Psalm 69:2, Psalm 69:14, Jer. 38:6, Psalm 37:5.

Now, you see now how far I got. Not very far. But a good word study for you to read.

Now, I was re-reading this and I am thinking about Ps. 40:2. Now, that miry clay is Jesus flesh body. Clay is made from dirt and water.

But that verse also says: ” He brought me up also out of a horrible pit”. That is either hell, or bringing his spirit out of his earthly body. Either way, I am thinking this is about the resurrection. What are your thoughts on this?

“He set my feet upon a rock and established my goings” Upon this rock I will build my church. We all know and have read what rock means in scriptures. We need to study again the word: Rock. And see if we get a new understanding of that word.

See how I end up with these word studies? Looks like I can not get through one single verse of scriptures.
